<p><em>MAESTRO </em>is a celebration of the great eccentrics in musical history, exposing their hilarious foibles and magnificent music.</p>
<p>Hear about the sex-ploits of Franz Liszt and Al Jolson; meet the world’s worst opera singer; find out about Percy Grainger’s ridiculous wedding reception; and discover the true stories of a conductor who made a habit out of embarrassing musicians! Plus learn how not to write a country and western song and much, much more.</p>
<p>David Scheel’s mix of piano and comedy has firmly established his international reputation as one of the world’s leading musical humourists. <em>MAESTRO </em>is the successor to <em>Don’t Shoot Me, I’m Only the Piano Player</em>, which was such a huge success at Glen Street in 2008.</p>
<p>Running time: 1 hour and 15 minutes, no interval.</p>

<p>Don’t miss Australian star of the screen and stage, Tom Burlinson, when he brings his latest musical masterpiece to Glen Street. Accompanied by a remarkable eight piece band, this show is a sensational, swinging salute to the masters of swing music.</p>
<p>Tom has delved deep into the Great American Song Book to create a montage of swing classics by Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra. He will also perform songs made famous by super cool swingers of the current era including Harry Connick Jr, Michael Bublé and Robbie Williams.</p>
<p>Tom’s show includes the greatest songs from the era of swing, including<em> Sway, Just in Time, Beyond the Sea, L-O-V-E, Birth of the Blues, The Way You Look Tonight, Ain’t That a Kick in the Head?</em> and <em>Feeling Good</em>.</p>
<p>“This music is, to a degree, timeless,” says Tom.</p>
