The NSW Government has announced one new Northern Beaches Council, made up of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater Councils.
Former Warringah administrator, Dick Persson will be the administrator.
Mark Ferguson will be General Manager, with Rik Hart and Henry Wong acting as deputy General Managers.
Northern Beaches’ residents have scored a major coup with the announcement of 'One Northern Beaches Parking' that everyone with a beach and reserve parking permit, can park for free at over 40 locations throughout the Northern Beaches.
“Whether you’re in Manly, Dee Why or Palm Beach this is a significant outcome with immediate benefits for everyone on the Northern Beaches”, says Northern Beaches Council Administrator, Dick Persson.
Under the newly formed Northern Beaches Council, rate payers in the former Pittwater and Warringah Council areas who have printed parking permit stickers and ratepayers in the former Manly Council area who have been issued digital parking permits will be able to park for free at most reserve and beach parking areas throughout the Northern Beaches. There are some restrictions, with a four hour parking limit on Manly Beachfront because of the high demand.
Beach and reserve parking permits are not valid at existing Manly residential parking permit scheme areas because they require a special residential parking permit.
Residents in the former Manly Council area, who are eligible for free digital parking permits, will be sent two 2015/2016 Warringah or Pittwater parking permits in the next three weeks at no charge.
All other residents or ratepayers who are eligible for a parking permit under the rules of the former Manly, Pittwater and Warringah Councils can buy a 2015/2016 Warringah or Pittwater parking permit or a 2016 Northern Beaches Councils sticker from the Northern Beaches Council subject to the payment of any applicable fee.
