From the company that brought you Carousel in Concert aboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth and the acclaimed Glen Street season of Carousel in Concert, Sydney Musical & Opera Society proudly presents a new flagship production.

A grand musical celebration featuring five principal vocalists, a full ensemble and choir, and a 22-piece orchestra. Enhanced by immersive projections and Opera Australia costumes, this spectacular new staging honours the Golden Age of Broadway in all its sweeping romance and orchestral splendour. Presented in the year that marks the 75th anniversary of The King and I’s Broadway premiere, An Evening with Rodgers & Hammerstein takes audiences on a theatrical journey from backstage intimacy to full on-stage brilliance. With lush orchestration and cinematic visual design, audiences will be transported through the timeless worlds of South Pacific, Carousel, The King and I, Oklahoma!, Cinderella and more.

Audiences will be treated to some of the most beloved songs ever written for the stage, including “Some Enchanted Evening,” “If I Loved You,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “Hello, Young Lovers,” “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy,” “People Will Say We’re in Love,” and “Ten Minutes Ago.”

With soaring melodies, rich harmonies, and the unmistakable warmth and heart that define Rodgers & Hammerstein, this production offers an expansive, heartfelt celebration of their extraordinary legacy.

Don’t miss this landmark musical event at Glen Street Theatre – 19–22 May 2026.
